In 1998, Karen Topham became the first teacher in the United States to transition on the job from male to female. Five years later, her oldest child became the first student at Stevenson High School to transition from female to male. Karen discusses her unusual perspective of transgenderism as a trans woman and the mother of a trans man in a world where this minority group is often misunderstood. Registration required.
